hello, i have a 2 year old aspire one (AO532H) with windows 7...i posted about a week or 2 ago about my flicker problem, got a few suggestions but it turned out to be way simpler...so i am sharing this to help others with the same problem potentially save a lot of $$. as soon as the technician opened the computer and saw the ribbon cable intact, he continued removing all the major components and systematically brushed each board/circuit/wahtever clean with a brush...that's it! it worked.he didnt use compressed air, i'm not sure why other than the fact that i'm in a small village in cambodia and i guess he didnt have that at his disposal...

apparently, dust on the various boards (i'm not sure but i think in my case it was the motherboard he was referring to) can cause the flickering screen..i have no idea how it can have that effect but it can...because mine is completely fine now. i was amazed, and thrilled to save a lot of money since i was assuming i needed a ribbon cable or even possibly a new screen.

good luck, clean your computer first before trying anything else!
