SSD verses HDD

Hi All,

The SSD on my M3-581TG has died, luckily still under warranty. I'm thinking of adding a HDD alongside the new replacement SSD in case it happens again.

I've read elsewhere on the forums this means that the OS has to reside on the HDD, and the SSD can only be used for data storage. Is this correct ?

Is there anything else I should be aware of or is it simply a case of plugging a new HDD into the free bay ?

The 2nd bay isn't always connected on Acers from what I've seen and read. If they don't sell the unit as having that 2nd bay (meaning it's there in other models or designs) you may not be able to just plug it in and have it work.

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to set it up to use the SSD for the OS, and use a HDD as additional storage space if you configure it properly.
