SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk: 0 WDC WD2500BEVT-22ZCT0-(PM)

I have an Acer Extensa 5635Z and a few days ago when booting my computer I received a message saying there was a "SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk: 0 WDC WD2500BEVT-22ZCT0-(PM)".

The computer still seems to work fine despite being constantly encouraged to back-up my files, but is it just a matter of time? Do I need to have it repaired?

Thanks,

David

If you are having a SMART failure, then yes.

It IS just a matter of time and you do need to have it repaired/replaced.
