Acer AO722 toolbar stick

I have had my AO722 for a couple years now, and have always had one problem that is easily fixed by restarting, but it occurs too often to seem reasonable.  On Windows 7 when you hover over a program that is running, you usually get a semi-spere of light where your mouse is, and a box around a program that isn't running. I get a glitch that has that orb or box stay on the icon until I move to anouther icon, but not off.

An example I have is here; image

The glitch doesn't seem to affect the Windows button, so I used that to show where my mouse was after I moved it off of the left side of Windows Explorer. Note: I didn't touch either Chrome or IE10, I moved immediately to my desktop.  This glitch  doesn't seem to have a pattern of something I do to trigger, but every time I have gotten it, I was trying to open more than one window at once, except for a couple times where I tried to open one and it happened.  It doesn't happen every time I open multiple windows, though.  Is there a way to prevent this, or stop it without going through a complete reset?

EDIT: It may not seem like much of a bugger, but I usually have multiple Microsoft Word or Chrome/IE10 windows open at once, and this glitch makes it so I don't get a preview of each window when I hover over it.
