I purchased an Acer V3-571 laptop on the 17 March 2013, when I got it home I unpacked it and plugged it in to charge. I started to transfer my files onto the laptop and discovered that the Wireless was not working.
The Laptop was sent back to Acer for repair, I received a report when it was returned saying there was nothing wrong with it. I find this hard to believe as I have been in the IT industry for 17 years and I checked it thoroughly including a factory restore.
When I got the laptop back I unpacked it and plugged it in, I started to transfer my files again and after about 45 minutes the laptop just switched off. I checked the cables and the power board, they were found to be ok. On further inspection I discovered that where the charger plugs into the power inlet on the motherboard was very loose.
I contacted Acer Australia again, and they sent me a new battery to see if that would solve the problem. The new battery did nothing as I said in the beginning I think the problem is with the motherboard power inlet.
When I sent the laptop to Acer originally, I packed it in the proper packaging it came in, but when It was returned to me it was loose in the box and was moving around quite freely. Also the state of the laptop concerned me as it was dirty, I had to clean it with an anti bacterial microfiber cloth before I could use it as it looked like someone had sneezed on it. I have repacked the laptop and added “Bubble Wrap” to protect it ans sent it back again.
I have had this laptop for just over 5 weeks and it has spent most of that time at Acer or in transit. I find that not very acceptable as being a new unit I think it should have been replaced with another new unit instead of me not being able to use it for five weeks. My work has suffered as I haven’t been able to use my MYOB program and I have to have my BAS done by next week.
I hope this gives you an insight to the problem I am having and that you act accordingly.
