    Good day

Press and hold the windows key and tap on "P". When the menu pops up on the screen, If you are using Windows 7, click/ select "Projector Only" and if you are using Windows 8, click/select "Screen Only". If you are using the VGA connection, Laptop sound will remain on.

    Hello RussT,

These option will be listed under the power options in Control Panel. The option is called "Choose what closing the lid does" from there you can change the setting from default "sleep" to "do nothing". this means when you close the lid the machine will not go into the sleep state.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Chris.

    Pushing my luck but :

Is there a setting/function that closes the screen on the laptop but not the monitor that  does not disable the laptop speakers?

    Thanks.
