I had to reinstall Windows 11 on my machine and everything works great except the touchpad, which does not have a driver available to download from the Driver & Manuals support section. On this forum, I read a solution (not for a PixArt) about uninstalling 3 drivers (I have 5 due to duplicates) then restarting Windows so I tried that with no luck. The drivers were re-installed successfully after a reboot but the touchpad still does not work.
I have a PixArt Touchpad and I only see conversation about Elan and Synaptics on this forum.
I went though other models and I cannot find a PixArt driver that works for "3838". I can find older and newer drivers, but not this one. I have found these on Acer's support pages:
TouchPad_PixArt_1.0.0.1008_W11x64_A
TouchPad_PixArt_1.0.0.1012_W11x64_A
TouchPad_PixArt_1.5.0.52_W11x64_A
TouchPad_PixArt_3.11.0.16_W11x64_A
TouchPad_PixArt_3.25.0.29_W11x64_A
TouchPad_PixArt_3.38.3.36_W11x64_A
Before coming here, I thought I needed "TouchPad_PixArt_2.0.0.9_W11x64" per ChatGPT but now I'm wondering if the driver is not available because Windows 11 is supposed to install working drivers (based on the solution I linked above). However, if the driver is purposely not there, why does it say this at the top: "Before installing the Touchpad driver, please install the Serial I/O driver first."
Asking ChatGPT resulted in the below. None of these have a PixArt driver available for download, which now I suspect might be on purpose so how do I fix my touchpad?
My current Device Manager (already tried uninstalling them all then rebooting):
