I just got the Acer swift go 14, when looking at information about it online it said I should be able to open it to 180° but it won't go further than about 135° (not exactly 135° but somwere around there)

Am I wrong and it shouldnt be able to open more than it does or am i missing some step in opening it??

If it helps the model number is: N23C6

    Hello Malolisii,

    Summary

    • Swift Go 14 (N23C6) — Lid travel stops around ~135°, despite some marketing suggesting 180°.
    • Swift X SFX14‑51G‑7003 — Same design limit, hinge stops ~130–140° by design (I have this laptop)
    • Likely cause — Both use a hinge cam and rear‑chassis lip geometry that block further travel to protect panel cable routing.
    • 180° hinges — Found only on select Swift variants; clearly listed in Acer’s official specs when present.
    • Proof step — Verify N23C6 hinge part number from service guide or FRU list; a match to the SFX14‑51G confirms identical geometry and no 180° capability without hardware changes.
