Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install Windows on ARM on my new Acer Swift Go with the Snapdragon X Plus processor.

I've created a bootable USB drive using Rufus and the official Windows on ARM ISO downloaded from Microsoft's website.

The system successfully boots from the USB, but it does not proceed past the boot screen or installation doesn't start. It just hangs or goes into a black screen.

Has anyone successfully installed Windows on ARM on this device? Am I missing any step, something specific to this Snapdragon platform?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

    Hi AtulKaushik
Installing Windows 11 ARM on Acer Swift Go 14 (Snapdragon X Plus)
If the USB boots but never reaches setup, that’s usually the ARM‑SoC boot chain failing to hand off to Windows PE.

    Checks & Steps

    1. Confirm ISO – Use the official Windows 11 ARM64 image from Microsoft, not x64.
    2. USB Media – Rufus → GPT + UEFI target, FAT32 partition; disable any custom tweaks.
    3. BIOS Update – Flash latest Swift Go 14 firmware; early builds lacked full Snapdragon X Plus boot fix.
    4. Secure Boot – Leave enabled; ARM boot requires signed chain.
    5. TPM/BitLocker – Ensure TPM is ON, no device encryption key pending.
    6. UEFI Boot Only – This platform has no Legacy mode; don’t waste time looking for it.
    7. Test with 2nd USB Port – Some ARM boards route one controller differently at boot.
    8. If Still Stuck – Re‑flash USB on another PC, or try Microsoft’s ARM Media Creation Tool. Some users report success only when bypassing third‑party USB hubs.

Note: Windows on ARM has a narrower driver set — even if setup starts, expect to pull Qualcomm chipset drivers from Acer or Qualcomm Dev Portal post‑install.
