Hi everyone,
I’m having a weird issue with my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16-72 (i9-14900HX, RTX 4060, Windows 11 24H2).
When plugged in, everything works perfectly. But when running on battery, after a while my laptop completely freezes — screen stuck (slightly wavy pattern), mouse lag, then total freeze. I can’t even shut it down normally, the only way is to hold the power button for 10 seconds.
This happens most often in the following situation:
- I’m using the laptop while plugged in.
- I unplug it to go print something.
- I plug in the printer’s USB cable and start printing.
- Immediately or shortly after, the laptop freezes completely.
Things I’ve already tried:
- Set Maximum processor state on battery to 30–50%.
- Reinstalled printer driver, GPU driver, and chipset driver.
- Updated Windows to the latest version.
Still no luck. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what might cause it or how to fix it?
