If Acer Care Center shows “WAITING” during a memory check, it may be due to a bug or outdated version. You can fix this by uninstalling the app and downloading the latest version from Acer’s official support site. If the issue persists, you can safely run the built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic tool instead. Just press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and hit Enter. Choose “Restart now and check for problems,” and your system will reboot to perform a memory test. If Acer Care Center continues to misbehave, you can rely on Windows diagnostics or use a trusted third-party tool like MemTest86 for deeper memory analysis.

    Hi Ralph_555,

Acer Care Center’s Memory Check has a habit of hanging or stalling, so it’s not the most reliable choice. For accuracy and speed, I’d recommend:

    • The built‑in Windows Memory Diagnostic — press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and follow the prompts to restart and scan.
    • Or, use trusted freeware such as MemTest86 or MemTest64, both widely used and available from reputable sites.

These will give you a proper read on your RAM’s health without the “WAITING…” frustration.
