Can you give further details how you are connecting these speakers and headphones, is it by their cords to the laptop audio port or by Bluetooth or through a hub, as that is important!

Anyway, if its by Bluetooth then you need to make sure that the BT driver is working 100% and is not corrupted, so refresh the BT driver in Device Manager, if its by their cords, then check the A515-56 audio out port if its working with another headphone, as that could be the problem. If the BT is not working after a driver refresh and a new driver clean install, change the wifi/BT card of the Aspire A515-56 laptop as that is where the problem is, its the same if the audio port out is not working as that need to be checked also.

These are the Wi-Fi/BT cards Acer fitted to the Aspire A515-56 model laptops

Do this Bluetooth Card Driver Refresh: Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth > select either Intel or MTK or LiteOn card Wireless Bluetooth > right click the card Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > and then pick the last and most recent dated BT driver that is in that list, and reinstall that driver, as afterwards your BT should work

Speakers are powered by USB chord connection from laptop and plug into earphone jack. Earphones plug into earphone jack (of course).

Have you tried all the left side USB 3.2 and the USB 2.0 port on the right side also. Or try a USB 3.2 to a USB-C adapter and see if the USB-C port will work instead of the USB 3.2 and 2.0 ports, but first go to this guide "Fix USB Ports Not Working in Windows 10 / 11" and see if these steps will regenerate the USBs, if not then the USBs are faulty. As to change the USB 3.2 and 2.0 port you need to take your laptop to a tech who has all the appropriate micro soldering tools to do this job, do not attempt to do this yourself, as you will ruin the mainboard. Good luck.

Thanks for your responses. The Ports are working as the power light comes on the speaker. It's the headphone jack that is not working.

The headphone jack can also be replaced, inquire with a technician near you, but on the A515-56 model laptop its on a separate board on the right side of the laptop which is a plug and play board that you could change., see caption below. Good luck.

Right side of the A515=56 IO board where the audio port is, see if you can get this board and replace the one that you have where the audio port is faulty, if you can't get the audio port changed and fixed.
