Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew the amount of ram slots this model (A515-56T-53QF) had specifically, since info on aspire a515-65Ts seem to be varied in terms of whether it was 1 soldered and 1 slot, or if both slots were removable.

Also, is there a resource for more detailed information on models such as this one? For example, the official Acer site where I could search up my Serial Number only mentioned this laptop having 2x4GB RAM, and didn't have information on whether they were soldered

Thank you for your time!

Your Aspire A515-56T model laptop has a 1x removable RAM module slot and has fixed interna/soldered ram of either 4GB or 8GB capacity.

The fixed 4GB memory can be upgraded to 20GB max total ram and the fixed 8GB memory can be upgraded to 24GB max total with adding a 1x 16GB DDR4-2666MT/s (if you can still buy this ram) or 16GB DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram modules.

With looking for drivers and manuals for the A515-56T model, go to the Acer Drivers and Support page HERE as you will have access to all that you need for the Aspire A515-56T model, but the official Acer service guides are not available for this laptop, as they are only available to ranked Ace member of this community, which all the information below is from. Good luck and hope this helps you out further with your memory upgrade for this laptop.

This is the listed Acer suitable ram for the A515-56T laptop, see if you can still buy the DDR4-2666MT/s type ram listed below, if not buy the 16GB DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram, as they are readily available and are not expensive.

    Hi Mangoing 👋

The Aspire A515-56T-53QF typically comes with one soldered 4GB RAM module and one upgradeable SO-DIMM slot—so you can add up to 16GB more, depending on your needs and BIOS support. That gives you a max of 20GB total RAM.

🔍 For official specs, Acer’s Drivers and Manuals page lets you search by serial number or SNID. It won’t always show soldered vs. slotted RAM, but it’s a good starting point.

If you want deeper hardware info, tools like CPU-Z or Crucial’s System Scanner can confirm slot availability without opening the chassis.

Hope that helps! Let us know what upgrade you're planning.

    Hi Puraw!

Thank you so much for your response, that really helps calm my nerves about committing to an upgrade! As for the upgrade itself, I got pretty lucky since I was planning to add 16GB anyways, so good to know that's within the maximum

I'll definitely check out those tools for any future questions, and thank you again for your help!

    Hi StevenGen,

Having specific models for suitable ram upgrades is really helpful, thank you! I checked prices on these briefly and it appears that the 2666 option is available but slightly more expensive than the other 2. Is it beneficial to stick with this option, as it matches the soldered ram, or would the 3200 options work as well?

    Thank you for your help!

Your Aspire A515-56T laptops 11th Gen cpu max speed is 3200MT/s so the DDR4-3200MT/s will run perfectly on this laptop, but due to the fixed ran soldered onto the mainboard, the ram will always run at the lowest ram speed, which means that mixing 2666MT/s with 3200MT/s the memory speed will be 2666MT/s, so it doesn't matter as both speeds will work, that is why Acer specifies both ram types. To make sure after you upgrade the ram with the DDR4-3200MT/s look in Task Manager > Memory at what speed your ram is running at.
