i just bought a brand new acer nitro v16 2 days ago and i opened it for the first time at my home yesterday after receiving it from my aunt, i opened youtube to listen to some music. at first it was going good and after a while the display froze and there was repetitive sound occuring all of a sudden while the video was playing. i tried to shut it down by clicking the power button but it didnt shut down. i tried using different keys but still it was lagging. after 10 minutes of lagging and repetitive noise, i tried long pressing the power button then it shut down [after a lot of tries]. then i instantly left it to charge fully and after a while i tried to open it again. this time i was using some app of this pc and the lagging happened again, but this time without the repetitive sound. and then i tried to turn the power down again, and this time also, no key worked. then same as before, after a lot of tries of long pressing, it stopped and the laptop shut down. then i left it to fully charge and put it in my bag. then i opened the laptop again today, the same things happened. 2 times. please help me. i need to use this laptop for a long time.

The new Nitro V16 that you have and are using, also it would help if you wrote down, which exact Nitro V16 you have, as there are a few models like ANV16-xx, but anyway, you need to make sure that you do the following before you use a new laptop out of the box, so do the following:

    • Update to last bios version, go to the Acer Drivers and Manuals HERE, then put the exact Nitro V16 model like ANV16-xx into the search space and download the last bios file from there for your Nitro V16 and install that file. When you execute this file, BE PATIENT and allow the bios file to finish and the laptop reboots to the Win-11 login page DO NOT disturb the bios update as you will brick the laptops bios if you do, so be careful.
    • Update Win-11 version 24H2 and install all the windows updates to the last OS build: 26100.4770.
    • Change the BIOS > Advanced > Display mode > to Nvidia GPU only , so that the laptop only uses the NVidia gpu, this is the best settings for gaming and high end graphics when plugged into the adapter, if you use your Nitro V16 on battery and in a mobile way, then set Display mode > Auto settings, as the Intel or AMD cpu graphics use less battery power.
    • Install the NVidia App and make sure that you update to the last and the latest Nvidia graphics driver.
    • Install the new NVidia driver as a "Custom installation > Clean installation" so that the new driver uninstalls and deletes all the previous NVidia graphics drivers that are on this laptop, and the new and latest game ready driver is installed for best graphics performance.

Do all the above, as these are essential settings for this laptop to perform at its best, as and if you are using the Nitro V16 out of the box, the above settings are old and that is why your laptop is performing like it is, as and with these gaming laptops, its essential that you keep them up to date and with the latest software installed. Good luck and hope this helps you out to sort out the problems that you are having.
