Will the Acer Spin 713 get an update?

I love my Acer Spin 713, the high resolution 3:2 screen, slim size, USB-C on both sides and long battery life have made it one of my favorite devices.

I removed chromeos from it and put linux on it, and it's amazing, I bought a Lenovo Yoga X1 to try to replace it but I don't like it nearly as much.

I really hope Acer updates the 713 and opens it up for other operating systems!

Which exact model Spin 713-xx do you have, as these are all the 713 models which are the CP713-1WN (2018) or 713-2W (2020) or 713-3W (2021). Anyway, there are new Acer Spin laptops that have been released but not the Spin 713 model, as its an old design and the 713 range has been discontinued, if that is what you want to know.

I have the CP713-2W 10th gen i5/w 16gb, I did look at all the new laptops from Acer, but none are a 2-in-1 with a 3:2 screen with high resolution (2256x1504).

I think my plan is going to be to buy a Framework 13" with the 3:2 screen and they have both a 2256x1504 and a 2880 x 1920 screen option, although I would prefer an updated Acer 713 over the Framework 13".

I might alternatively pick up a used 3W 713 i7/16gb and de-chromify it.

As a software developer the 3:2 screen is really awesome because it's so tall, couple that with the high resolution screen and it's really a dream for mobile software development, the 2-in-1 capability also let's me test my apps/w stylus in tablet mode.

I would gladly buy another 713 from Acer if they updated it and kept the 3:2 screen, out of like 20 laptops I've owned it's my favorite. The screen on it is what makes it special.

I've used it so much worn the serial numbers and labels off the bottom of it.
