I had bought this laptop 4 years ago. The problem that I am facing right now is that when I press the power button sometimes, the "blue" light turns on for 4 seconds and then black ( no backlit keyboard no display nothing ). When it used to actually boot up, the backlit keyboard would turn on the display would turn on and the blue light would remain constantly "on".

This boot up problem is random ( sometimes the laptop would turn on sometimes it wouldn't ) . If it is in the "on" state then it would remain "on" and would not shut down on its own until I have done so manually.

I have gone to the nearest service centre they have done a thermal place replacement and is suggesting a new hard drive, although I have a NvMe SSD inside.

Please help me figure out the issue 😭

Do a hard reset first and see if its not the EC chip and bios that are frozen, otherwise its a main power rail fault that you can't fix, as you need to take your laptop to a technician so that can pinpoint the exact problem. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Hard Reset - Remove all the screws from the base cover to the upper case of your laptop, starting from the upper side, pry to release the upper side latches, continue releasing the remaining latches. Then remove the lower case.

Disconnect the main battery cable from the mainboard, then take the main battery out. Then press the power key for 15 seconds to release all power from the laptop and then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short this batteries + & - pins at the mainboard plug to reset CMOS and then take all the ran out.

Leave the laptop like that for at least 30-60 min so that EC and Chipset chips reset completely and then reconnect everything, if you have 2x ram modules, only connect 1x ram module and alternate the two ram modules and see if its not the ram that is faulty, as the laptop should turn on and boot properly with an image on the screen.

I have disconnected the CMOS battery and have attached an image of how it looks I am still not able to understand how to short this battery.
