This has happened before and the touchscreen HID driver does not appear on the list of drivers. I tried several of the suggestions listed in the forum, but not it is happening again. Is there a permanent solution?

To address the recurring touchscreen issues on your Acer Aspire A315-24PT, start by updating or reinstalling the touchscreen driver, checking for Windows updates, and running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. If the problem persists, consider booting into Safe Mode to check for software conflicts, and as a last resort, resetting Windows while keeping your files.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of the troubleshooting steps:
    1. Driver Issues:
    Update or Reinstall Drivers:
Go to Device Manager, expand "Human Interface Devices," right-click "HID-compliant touch screen," and select "Update driver." If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and restarting your computer to let Windows reinstall it.
Check for Driver Updates on Acer's Website: If automatic updates don't resolve the issue, visit the Acer support website and download the latest driver for your specific model.
    Consider AMD Graphics Driver:
If your laptop has an AMD graphics card, completely uninstall the driver using a DUU uninstaller in Safe Mode and then reinstall the latest version from Acer's support page.

    2. Windows-Related Fixes:
    Run Windows Troubleshooter:
Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.
    Install Windows Updates:
Ensure your Windows is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and installing any pending updates.

    Safe Mode Test:
Boot into Safe Mode (hold Shift while clicking Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart > Press F4) to see if the touchscreen works. If it works in Safe Mode, a software conflict is likely.
    Reset Windows:
If other solutions fail, consider resetting your PC (Settings > Recovery > Reset PC) while keeping your files.
