Predator Triton 17 X – GPU 2 Fan Stuck at 198 RPM After Windows Update

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Predator Triton 17 X (PTX17-71) and running into a frustrating issue with GPU 2 fan control in PredatorSense.

Up until recently, I was able to control GPU 2's fan properly through the PredatorSense app. If the fan control bug happened, I could usually restore the system using a System Restore point, and that would fix the fan behavior.

However, after the most recent Windows update, not only did PredatorSense break again, but my System Restore point was also deleted, and now I can’t recover the working configuration.

❗ Symptoms:

  • GPU 2 fan stuck at 198 RPM, even under full load or manually setting it to Max in PredatorSense.
  • Fan does not audibly spin, despite what the app shows.
  • Other fans (CPU and GPU 1) are working fine.
  • Running latest PredatorSense version (from Acer’s official site).
  • Fast Startup is disabled
  • BIOS is up to date

✅ What I’ve tried:

  • Uninstalled + reinstalled PredatorSense and all related services.
  • Manually deleted leftover folders under C:\ProgramData, AppData, etc.
  • Rebooted multiple times.
  • Tried launching PredatorSense after killing the process in Task Manager.

Sadly, nothing works — and I’ve seen others with the same or similar issue, but no confirmed solution yet.

Does anyone know:

  • If this is a known bug after a Windows update?
  • If there’s a specific version of PredatorSense or BIOS that works correctly?
  • Any workaround to restore full fan control for GPU 2?
