Acer aspire 3-a315-43 (ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon graphics

Whenever i run cinebench or stuff like that my cpu doesnt boost and instead stays at around 1.7-1.8ghz and cpu utilisation stays at 80% but after the test is over it goes back to normal and boosts again.

I just installed the latest GPU driver (2025) but in device manager it says that my CPU

Temps are normal- i use core temp

This happened after i reset my laptop

    Hi plshelp120202

Cinebench is a popular tool, but it's not always the most informative when diagnosing real-world CPU behavior—especially on laptops like the Aspire 3 with Ryzen 5 5500U. The 1.7–1.8GHz plateau you’re seeing could point to power-saving curves or thermal limits kicking in during synthetic loads. Since you mentioned the CPU boosts fine after the test, your system might just be prioritizing efficiency under sustained stress.

If you’re looking to dig deeper, I’d recommend trying:

    • HWiNFO64: To monitor voltage, thermals, and boost logic in real time.
    • ThrottleStop (Intel) or RyzenAdj (AMD): For more granular control, depending on platform.
    • AIDA64 / OCCT: Offer more customizable stress tests that reflect daily usage better than Cinebench alone.

Also, double-check your Windows power plan and BIOS version—they can heavily influence CPU boost behavior.
