The keyboard lighting turns off after 30 seconds, even when connected to mains supply, which is stupid. How can I keep the keyboard lighting on all the time when mains powered, even after restarts?

UPDATE: I think I've solved this. You have to go into BIOS at start up (pressing F2), selecting MAIN then scroll down til you see keyboard illumination timeout, press F6 to change value, F10 to save, then exit. Havent checked yet if this holds on subsequent restarts, but seems to have done the trick so far. Bit of a nuisance as surely there should have been a way to do this just from Fn keys without having to go into BIOS.

You can't set that the keyboard lights stay on permanently, as the 30 seconds is all the time limit that there is. The bios setting is to either have the RGB feature for your keyboard functioning or you can turn the RGB feature off, there is no time limiting of these lights. Good luck and hope this helps you out further with this settings.

Thanks @StevenGen but yes you can have the normal white keyboard lights stay on. I found the solution online, did it yesterday, and I posted a 'how to' 'Update' for this. Re RGB function I'm assuming you mean an option to have multi-coloured keyboard illumination. If so, & as far as I'm aware, the Acer Aspire 5 series don't have this and usually it's only on gaming type Acer laptops.
