There is no touch screen driver available for download that I see. It is quite frustrating that Acer sold me a product that deletes the touch screen driver and there is no easy way to reinstall it. Someone please help me reinstall my touch screen driver so I can use it again.

Hi, if your laptop’s integrated components like the webcam, touchpad, or touchscreen aren’t working, keep in mind that Windows handles most of these via built-in drivers—they’re not usually available as separate downloads.

    Here’s what you can try:

    1. Device Manager Cleanup Uninstall any drivers listed under Human Interface Devices or Touchscreen that seem related. Then reboot—Windows will reinstall the correct drivers automatically.
    2. BIOS Check Make sure your BIOS is up to date. Sometimes firmware updates restore hardware detection or fix quirks with embedded controllers.
    3. Windows 11 In-Place Recovery If the touchscreen worked before and you haven’t done a full reset, try the “In-place recovery” feature. It reinstalls Windows while keeping your files and apps intact—great for fixing driver-level issues without a full wipe: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-issues-by-reinstalling-the-current-version-of-windows-497ac6da-7cac-4641-82a5-f50398d879a0

Windows should update and install the HID touchpad driver, in the Nitro 5 laptops there is a "HID Event Filter" well there is one for my AN515-56 model laptop, as Acer does not provide a touchpad driver per say for the Nitro 5 laptops. What is your Nitro 5 model number, as the touchscreen driver should be active and shown in Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices > HID compliant mouse, otherwise the touchpad is faulty and needs replacing, as with touchpads its either the hardware works or it doesn't. And and if the touchpad is not showing in Device Manager then its faulty. Good luck.

Thank you to your guys' support. There was one faulty driver which, per the first suggesting I received, I deleted. It was automatically reinstalled when I restarted the computer. Thank you, I appreciate you guys. Also, I tried to select several different names which were not allowed but somehow fat pig was allowed. Anyway, thank you.
