Will my predator helios 300 still be fixed if the screen turned black while I was using it?

I was working on something when my laptop's screen turned black. It started from the edges towards the center. I tried to shut it down but it froze so I closed the laptop. Hoping that it was just a glitch, I opened it again but nothing displayed. I tried to connect it thru an HDMI to the LED TV and it still works but no display on my laptop screen. What should I do to fix it? Will it still be fixed?

Hi, it could be just the eDP cable or connector inside the laptop (pinched or loose) but if the laptop is from 2017 it will probably be the screen that needs to be replaced.

If your Predator Helios 300 is still under warranty and its screen is freezing and the screen went black, and after closing the lid its still got a black screen, this symptom is a sign of the laptops EC chip freezing and it needs a hard reset. I suggest that you send your laptop to Acer Tech Support and get the Acer technicians to fix this for you, DO NOT open the laptop and let Acer fix whatever is wrong with your laptop.

As in most cases your laptop needs a Hard Reset to fix this, which means the back cover needs to be opened and the main battery taken out and the bios battery plug pins at the mobo need to be shorted to reset CMOS, so its quite an involved process to do, but in allot of cases it could be a hardware component that is faulty and needs to be changed/replaced like a mainboard or even a screen or an eDP cable etc etc. So its best that you send your laptop back to Acer Tech Support in your country. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.
