So I'm using an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 gaming laptop. It's almost been 1 year and 9 months since I bought this. So today is 24th July 2025. 6 months I started facing a black screen flash while I plug in my charger and take it out. I've an RTX 4050 in my laptop, an I7 13th gen. For the last three months, I started facing an issue with my game, Valorant, crashing for no reason. So I reached the game support and tried all the suggestions. Later on, the situation got worse, and my laptop started flashing a black screen out of nowhere, which started annoying my work and gaming experience. Later that I found out that my laptop isn't working on battery power when it is running on my RTX 4050 GPU. I approached Nvidia support. They too gave some suggestions of rolling back and updating nothing worked. Coming to the Acer support in my surroundings isn't that compromising in the gaming laptop sector. So I went to a known technician who did a deep clean and changed the thermal paste. But the problem still exists. Later, he did a detailed examination and saw that all the thermals are good digitally. But when he opened the laptop, the whole motherboard and the RAM sticks were too hot. So he again restarted the laptop and disabled the graphics drivers, and started using it; there are no crashes and complaints after disabling my 4050 and using on default Intel GPU. But as you know, using an Intel GPU instead of the RTX 4050 isn't a better option. Then the technician advised that we need to take a good examination of the GPU internally, with all the electrical readings, to determine if they are good or not and said this will boot up your laptop and erase all data. Right now, I'm using my laptop, disabling my 4050 GPU and using it on Intel powered GPU. So, please help with this.

With these laptops and especially the PHN16-71-xxxx, and with their 13th Gen cpu, you have to make sure that Win-11 version 24H2 is updated to its just released OS build: 26100.4770 and also, you have to install the last bios version 1.18, as this laptop needs the Intel CPU Microcode fix to perform properly (btw I’m using this exact same model laptop PHN16-71-50JG with the RTX4050 gpu) and I don’t have any of your RTX4050 problem and I’ve got the RTX4050 set in bios to only work with this gpu and NOT the Intel cpu graphics, and also in Predator Sense its set the same.

Also, have you got the NVidia App installed and the RTX4050 last Nvidia Game Ready driver version 577.00, which is the latest driver, as the OS build and the new NVidia driver I found that its improved performance on my PHN16-71 laptop, also the NVidia App has the ultimate setting for the Valorant™ game, as its one of the NVidia App fully supported games, so make sure that you play Valorant™ through the apps settings, as you will find that it will play allot better and could eliminate the battery problems that you are getting. Try all that and let us know. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
