A315-59 Sound Not Good. What needs to be done to improve audio?

Greetings all. Just purchased a brand new A315 - 59. Generally pleased with it other than the sound is weak. Downloaded and installed all the up-to-date drivers using windows 11. I have been through all the settings, and nothing really seems to improve it. My much older V3 - 572 is still working (and now runs Windows 11) and has much better sound. How can this be? Any help appreciated. I notice that the A315 - 59 has no Dolby software. Could this be the issue?

Hey Vezxy, It’s not just about missing Dolby or DTS—your A315-59 uses a very basic Realtek audio chip paired with entry-level internal speakers, which makes weak sound pretty typical in this class of laptop. You won’t get much improvement from driver tweaks alone.

    For better audio:

    • 🎧 Use a good pair of headphones or external speakers with amplification if possible.
    • 🛠️ Try free sound booster tools like EarTrumpet, Boom 3D (trial version), or Letasoft Sound Booster Free from the Microsoft Store—these can boost volume and give you a bit more presence.
    • 🔊 In Windows, enable “Loudness Equalization” in the sound settings under Playback > Enhancements.

These suggestions focus on free or built-in solutions, and while they won’t match high-end setups, they can make the experience more tolerable.
