I've always switched on the laptop and the back light for the keyboard comes straight on but now its not. I've tried alt and the brightness button but nothing. The brightness box comes up but won't move. Its not letting me to move the line up or down

I dont have a fn button on this either. Any ideas on what's happening and how to fix it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just want to let you know to NOT identify your ChromeBook as the model N21Q8 (yes I know that its sticker to the model as that) but this number is unknown on the marketplace, as your laptop is identified and known/referred to as the Acer ChromeBook model CB515-1W, so please remember that.

With the keyboard RGB back light it could be that its power FPC cable has come lose or your keyboard is faulty, the only way that you can fix this is to take the laptop apart and check the keyboard connecting cables and disconnect them and clean its pins at both ends with isopoll alcohol and then reconnect these cable and see if the RGB lights work, if they don't then then you need to replace the keyboard which Acer only lists the upper case & keyboard as a sealed unit. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Below is how Acer lists the keyboard for this laptop and its the US International upper case and keyboard sealed unit for the Acer ChromeBook model CB515-1W as quoted in its Acer service guide
