My Acer Nitro 5 was fine just 2 days ago, i could play all day if i wanted no problem as long as i play with fans on max speed am ok. But Since Yesterday, i cannot play for more that 30minutes , i get frame drops and my laptop becomes soo slow even with the game closed, always forcing me to hard reset, note i used to have this kind of problem before, and i found out that the Nvidia app is somehow causing this, just having the app itself used to cause such issues when am gaming, even my screen would glitch out randomly, not sure why, but in this case i did not have the app and note, on a normal day i have to disable the GPU and enable it just so i can game ok, because sometimes they launch and have bad frames from the get got, so that always helped me, but now, back at it again with the frame drops, am out of options here, nothing is helping.

Anyone know the issue, everything is up to date by the way, i reinstalled the GPU nothing helps. Specs i5 11th gen 16GB RTX 3060, i play games like Fortnite and Rocket League!

What you have to realize is that these gaming laptops are like a fine tuned F1 racing cars, as what you are doing is like this, you are driving an F1 car and doing allot of GPs and doing nothing to your F1 cars engine, and not changing its oil and fluids to cool it down😂?

All the below suggestions is what I've done to my Nitro 5 AN515-56 that is a i7-11370H cpu with the RTX3050 (which is a very similar laptop to what you have) but I have upgraded the ram to 32GB at 2x16GB DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram, and I'm using the Samsung 970 EVO NVMe that is a PCIe 3x4 lane M.2 SSD so maybe increase the ram and use a better and quicker M.2 SSD drive for better gaming results, as I've had no problems with consistent repasting and also using a multi fan tablet cooler as that also helps for prolonged gaming, as your problems are caused by overheating.

So do this, as and if you play prolonged and log hours of gaming, you need to change the paste in your Nitro laptop at least every 3-4 months, otherwise the paste for the cpu, gpu and vram chips dry out and become useless, as they lose all their thermal conductivity. I also suggest that you use liquid metal and apply a thin layer to the cpu and gpu for best results DO NOT apply a thick layer of liquid metal paste as its conductive and it can get under the cpu or gpu or onto the mobo and short these components out and destroy your mobo.

What I suggest is that you open your Nitro 5 and change the past to the high end gaming type liquid metal and to the Thermal Grizzly products below:

    1. Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal for the CPU
    2. Kryonaut Extreme for the GPU (which is a normal high end paste) or use the liquid metal above.
    3. TG Putty for the VRAM chips

Also make sure that you have the latest updates for the Win-11 version 24H2 and its updated to its last OS build: 6100.4652 and you have the last bios version installed also. As doing all the above will make sure that your laptop performs at its best. Good luck
