Hey, so i currently have an Orion 5000 PO5-615s Core i7, RTX 3070 PC, XMP shows in the bios yet when i enable it it just sends my pc into a power loop until bios recovery kicks in, im stuck at 2133mhz with 3200mhz RAM, is there anything i can do? I have read everywhere that the Z490 motherboards can support it.

    👋 Hey @bunnydevx ,

Thanks for the heads-up about your Orion 5000 PO5-615s. You're right — even though XMP shows up in the BIOS, these Acer-custom Z490 boards often struggle to apply most profiles correctly. That power loop you're hitting after enabling XMP is sadly common.

🔍 What's going on? The BIOS likely fails to train the RAM at 3200 MHz using aggressive XMP settings. It then rolls back via recovery, leaving you stuck at 2133 MHz.

    What you can try instead:

Here are a few DDR4 modules that tend to play nicer with OEM boards like yours:

    Brand / Series

    Specs

    Why it helps

    Crucial Ballistix

    DDR4-3200 CL16

    Uses Micron E-Die, stable fallback

    Corsair Vengeance LPX

    DDR4-3200 CL16 or CL18

Non-RGB, tighter timings, good JEDEC fallback

    Kingston Fury Beast

    DDR4-3200 CL16

High success with locked OEM boards

    🧠 Tips:

    • Avoid RGB modules — they sometimes need extra firmware support.
    • Stick to single-rank or low-voltage kits (1.35V).
    • If XMP keeps failing, try setting speed and timings manually if your BIOS allows it — something like 3200 MHz, CL16, 1.35V.

📌 Sadly, unless Acer pushes a more flexible BIOS update, full XMP support remains hit-or-miss.

Let us know what RAM you're using now, and we can help check its SPD table or recommend tweaks!
