I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 laptop, after I reinstalled the Realtek audio driver, the system stopped seeing the microphone on the headset.

    1.  Windows Sound Settings:
      • Enable Microphone: Go to Settings > System > Sound > Input. Ensure the headset microphone is listed and enabled. If it's disabled, right-click and select "Enable".
      • Set as Default: In the same "Input" settings, make sure the headset microphone is selected as the default recording device.
      • Adjust Input Levels: Under "Input," there's an "Input volume" slider. Adjust it to a suitable level. You may also see a "Microphone boost" option, which can be helpful for low-volume microphones.
      • Check Privacy Settings: Verify that apps are allowed to access the microphone. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
    2.  Realtek Audio Console:
      • Open the Realtek Audio Console (or HD Audio Manager).
      • Navigate to the recording devices section.
      • Make sure the headset microphone is listed and enabled.
      • Adjust the recording volume and boost settings within the Realtek console.
      • Check for a "Headphone/Headset" setting and ensure it's configured correctly.
    3.  Update or Reinstall Drivers:
      • Check for Updates: Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start Menu).
      • Expand "Sound, video and game controllers."
      • Right-click on "Realtek (R) Audio" and select "Update driver."
      • If no updates are found, try uninstalling the driver (right-click and select "Uninstall device"). Then, restart your computer. Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
      • You can also download the latest Realtek drivers from the manufacturer's website
