Hey there, I have a Predator Helios Neo 16 with Windows 11 Pro 24H2, - PHN16-99-PA

So, lately I have been having lots of BSOD's (Blue screen of death) issues, whenever I tried to do anything - whether I was playing a game or just browsing or chilling - all of a sudden boom BSOD. I tried to figure out why the issue was happening and then I noticed that the Windows 11 version I am in has not been officially released - it was still in the beta version. For some reason Windows kept pushing this experimental version into my laptop whenever I updated or even reset from a clean bootable USB. I had to go through the process of reset at least 9 times till now until I gave up.

So, I took the initiative to install Windows 10 instead, and everything works great on this stable version. But the only issue is Predator Sense. I cannot seem to run it. The app installs and it even shows up in the control panel but will not show up in the start menu for all apps and wouldn't launch at all. No matter what I did, it just wouldn't run because Predator Sense for my laptop was release only for Windows 11 x64 bit. Really need the fan control since gaming would get extremly hard. No other fan control third party apps are willing to work because it cannot detect the fans as it's BIOS locked.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone could please help me out, I cannot revert back to Windows 11 as I am extremely done with reinstalling everything again and again and doing the tweaks for my gaming device. I mean yeah I would consider resetting but not yet.
Thanks in advance.

The model of your Predator Helios Neo PHN16-99-PA is not the correct model of your laptop, your laptop model is the PHN16-72-99PA, also these laptops should ONLY be instilled with Win-11 version 24H2 Operating System and updated to the last OS build: 6100.4652

Note: DO NOT USE WIN-10, as this OS Microsoft support will end at the end of November 2025 and it will become obsolete, so be warned about these factors, Win-11 is a much better OS for your PHN16-71-99PS model.

Its essential that you do the following:

    • Install the last bios version 1.17 to fix the CPU microcode Intel issues that the 14th Gen cpu have,
    • Install the NVidia App and scan the laptop to install the latest NVidia Game Ready driver version 576.88 for your laptops RTX40xx gpu
    • Set in BIOS>Advanced>Display mode>NVIDIA GPU only and do this also in Predator Sense too.
    • Play all the supported games through the NVidia app, so that your PHN16-72-99PA laptop GPU uses the ultimate NVidia app settings for all NVidia app support games
    • Install the last Win-11 version 24H2 Operating System and updated to the last OS build: 6100.4652

If you do all the above, you will NOT have BSODs and crashes. Btw, I'm using the PHN16-71-50JG model and this is how my laptop is setup and I've never ever have had any BSODs or crashes, so I'm not just giving you theoretical settings, these settings work.

Installation of Win-11 version 24H2 problems - Its impossible that you can't install the latest Win-11 24H2 for your Neo laptop and only can install a Win-11 Beta version. As the Beta versions are only accessible from Microsoft  Windows 11 developers builds, so you must be using a copy of their Win-11 installation.

For a proper Win-11 version 24H2, I suggest that you construct a proper bootable installation USB and use the Rufus 4.9 method and guide and follow exactly how they instruct you to construct this bootable USB, and also, make sure that after you finish the Rufus 4.9 bootable USB you also put the appropriate Intel RST 19.5.7.1058 driver folder into this same Rufus 4.9 bootable USB, this IRST driver can be obtained from the PHN16-72 Acer Drivers and Manuals page > Drivers so do that and when you get to the Win-11 installation section @ Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver > install the version 19.5.7.1058 driver so that the M.2 SSD driver is recognized and you can continue the Win-11 installation. Its a very simple process, as you are doing things wrongly. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

This is the section of the Win-11 version 24H2 OS that you need to install the IRST driver @ Load driver > and use section Intel Managed Controller RST 09AB, as then you will be able to continue the Win-11 version 24H2 installation.

Hi there, thanks a lot for replying.

Yes, I do understand that I am supposed to use Windows 11 for the best support for my gaming laptop, however, whenever I reinstalled Windows 11 through a bootable USB using Rufus and all those methods and after completely updating my Windows - the OS Build I used to get was 26100.4351. It's the unofficial build and still in the experimental phase - and pardon me for using the word "Beta". I have attached a picture of the WINVER and please let me know what can I do to further stop this from happening. Or if possible please send me the direct and perfect link to download Windows 11. Thanks a lot for your time.
