AN 17-41 laptop BIOS question, , I want to be able to see and adjust my RAM speed,

I have a Nitro 17 with an AMD ryzen 7 7840hs,32gb crucial DDR 5,5600 RAM, Samsung 990pro 2Tb and GeForce 4060 8gb,, I'm trying to access the advanced settings in my BIOS (InsydeH20 )Ver 5.0,in the advanced settings there are only 4 settings available, I want to be able to see and adjust my RAM speed, I believe it is being throttled, according to CPUz it's running 935mhz, system RAM,

On top of that it won't let me install Ryzen Master,

I've been told Acer locks the BIOS and I will have to flash it,this is absolutely insane, anyway to unlock the advanced settings without flashing and why would Acer lock it?

Any suggestions on a flashing tool?

Address to Acer execs to complain 😀😀

There is a SREP method to unlock the additional Advanced bios settings section for your Nitro AN17-41 laptop, as your AN17-41 has got a Config List to use this method, but be aware, that these additional settings have been reported to do nothing to either lower cpu voltage or increase ram speeds, see the guide HERE.

Note and Be aware: that you do this bios mod and all adjustments at your own risk, as Acer does not recommend using these settings! If your Nitro AN17-41 laptop is under the Acer warranty, this will VOID your Acer warranty! Also, I take no responsibility if you brick your laptop.

The Nitro AN17-41 is designed by Acer to operate with its last bios version 1.25 and Win-11 version 24H2 updated to the last OS build: 26100.4484 and bios set at default and like Acer sells this laptop to you for best functionality. Good luck and hope this helps you out

Nitro 17 (AN17-41) Optimization Guide — RAM, SSD, Performance, and BIOS Limits:

🔹 RAM Speed Locked? Here’s Why. If your Crucial DDR5-5600 kit reads ~935MHz in CPU-Z (≈1866MT/s), it’s likely defaulting to a lower JEDEC profile. Acer’s InsydeH2O BIOS (v5.0) does not support XMP/EXPO, nor manual timing adjustments—so even fast kits operate at conservative defaults. Want full speeds? Without official support, the only path would be modding or flashing a custom BIOS.

⚠️ Why Modding BIOS Is Risky, Acer locks advanced BIOS features deliberately—for stability and warranty coverage. Tools like AMIBCP or H2OUVE might let users edit BIOS menus, but flashing a modded image may:
❌ Brick the board
❌ Void warranty
❌ Break thermal protections or EC firmware

🔹 SSD Overheating? Pro vs. Evo Plus The Samsung 990 Pro can run hot—especially when “Aggressive Guaranteed Performance” is active. If drive temps exceed 95 °C during gaming, consider switching to the 990 Evo Plus, which runs cooler (but trades off some peak throughput and endurance). If resale is possible, selling the Pro and Crucial kit could offset a better-fitting upgrade.

🔹 Enable “Guaranteed Performance” Mode Via NitroSense:
Launch NitroSense (Fn + F9 or dedicated key), Go to Power tab → Choose “Max Performance”

Via Windows advanced Power Plan settings, select under Performance Boost "Aggressive Guaranteed' (see picture)

Set Attributes value to 2 (was 1) Restart PC → Performance Boost Mode is now visible in advanced Power Settings.

🧩 Why It Matters: Using Best Performance tells Windows to prioritize speed and responsiveness. But unless Processor Boost Mode is also set to Aggressive at Guaranteed, the CPU may still behave conservatively during load spikes—leading to mismatches in expected performance and fan behavior.

⚠️ If you mix Best Efficiency with Aggressive Boost, the system might still try to boost, but the outer plan suppresses it—resulting in inconsistent throttling and potentially higher temps with lower performance.

🚨 Reminder: Boost mode raises CPU/GPU thermals significantly. Use a high-CFM cooling pad (preferably 9-fan with directional airflow) to minimize throttling. SSD zones near the rear hinge require attention.

Optional Additions for Maximum Clarity

RAM Dual Channel Check with HWiNFO Make sure both modules are being properly addressed. You can suggest launching HWiNFO and checking under "Memory → Channels" to confirm dual channel is active. It’s especially useful if RAM slots were populated in an uneven install.
NVMe Firmware Update Samsung released multiple firmware patches for the 990 Pro to reduce idle wear and thermal peaks. She might want to check for firmware 1B2QJXD7 or later using Samsung Magician.
Undervolting vs. Performance Boost Tradeoff (Advanced) For users comfortable with RyzenAdj or Curve Optimizer (on unlocked models), undervolting can sometimes offer comparable performance at reduced thermal output. Not usable on Acer’s locked BIOS, but worth mentioning for context.
BIOS Recovery Tip (Worst Case Scenario) In case someone does try to flash a modded BIOS and bricks it, Acer Nitro models support CRISIS recovery mode via USB—if they short out specific EC pins. Definitely not beginner-friendly, but you could link to community guides if needed later.
