I was wondering if I can use a dedicated docking station for my ANV15-41-R2M0 on its Type-C port.

If it's compatible can yall give recommendations for a good docking station.

    Hi @dwill365 ,

Your Nitro ANV15-41-R2M0 does include a USB-C port, but it’s important to clarify a few things before buying a docking station:

    ⚠️ Charging via USB-C

    • This model’s USB-C port does not support Power Delivery (PD) — meaning it cannot charge through a docking station, even if the dock supplies 100W or more.
    • Using such a dock may trigger a warning like "Connected, but not charging" or "Slow charger detected".

    🖥️ External Display via USB-C

    • Good news: the port does support DisplayPort Alt Mode, so you can connect an external monitor (e.g. via USB-C to HDMI or DP).
    • That said, high refresh rates (144Hz/165Hz) may be limited or unstable through certain docks, especially if you're running Windows 11 24H2, which has known quirks with USB4 and GPU hand-off.

    ✅ Recommendation

    • For best results, stick with a USB-C hub that offers video + data, but without Power Delivery.
    • Alternatively, connect your external monitor directly via HDMI, which taps into the dGPU for more stable high-refresh output.
    • If you need multiple ports (Ethernet, USB, card reader), a powered USB hub with video passthrough is safer than a full Thunderbolt dock.

The USB-C port on your Acer Nitro ANV15-41-R2M0 does not support video output, so you can’t use it to connect external monitors via docking stations. However, you can safely use a USB-C docking station for data transfer. If you need to connect a monitor, use the HDMI port directly
