I recently upgraded my Aspire A515-55-56VK I5-1035G laptop from a Hynix DDR4 8g 2666mhz to a TeamGroup Elite DDR4 16g 3200mhz. Is there something I have to do in the BIOS to make sure the speed is upgraded? So far, after installing the ram stick myself, I've had no issues after starting my PC. Using a radiograph and other settings, my PC recognizes the 16 gigs or ram.

    Hi,

🧠 No BIOS tuning needed—the RAM speed negotiation is automatic on the Aspire A515-55-56VK.

💡 When you install a 3200 MHz stick alongside the factory 2666 MHz Hynix (which is soldered), the system will default to the lower speed2666 MHz—because:

    • That’s the maximum supported by the Intel i5-1035G1 memory controller, and
    • The system always aligns to the slowest-rated module when using mixed-speed DIMMs.

📊 Since you're pairing unequal modules (16 GB + 8 GB), it's almost certainly running in Flex Mode:

    • 8 GB of the 16 GB stick runs dual-channel alongside the soldered Hynix,
    • The remaining 8 GB runs single-channel, which is expected.

✅ No BIOS tweaks required. The system has already negotiated the best possible configuration based on the hardware combo.
