Hello,

My question is that I bought an ACER Predator Helios 16 laptop in 2024, there have been no problems with it so far, now for some reason it doesn't want to respond to the power button and won't turn on!

If your 2024 PHN16-72 Predator Neo model laptop is still under the Acer warranty, I suggest that you send your laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country and don't try to fix a power key problem as there is nothing that you can do software wise, as your laptop need a hard reset first and that entails opening the back cover and taking the main battery out and the bios battery which will void your warranty. Also remember that any parts on these new laptops are very expensive, so its strongly advisable that you send your laptop back to Acer.

If your PHN16-72 Neo is out of the Acer 12 months warranty, then as I've said above, do a hard reset by following the below steps, and if that doesn't work, then your laptop could have a main power rail problem and you need to take your laptop to a technician that can pinpoint the exact problem. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Hard Reset - Remove ten (10) screws from the base cover to the upper case of your Nitro ANV15-51 laptop, starting from the upper side, pry to release the upper side latches, continue releasing the remaining latches. Then remove the lower case.

Press the power key for 15 seconds to release all power to the laptop and then disconnect the main battery cable from the mainboard, then take the main battery out. Then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the bios batteries + & - pins at the mainboard plug (as shown below) to reset CMOS and then take all the ran out.

Leave the laptop like that for at least 30min so that the EC and Chipset chips reset completely and then reconnect everything, as the laptop should turn on and boot properly with an image on the screen.
