Hi!

I recently purchased an Acer XV242 F monitor and I’m experiencing a persistent issue where the image does not fill the entire screen.
There are thick black borders on the top and both sides at all times, even when set to the native 1920x1080 resolution at 240Hz. The problem is visible:

  • In Windows
  • In the Nvidia Control Panel (set to 1920x1080 @ 240Hz )
  • At all refresh rates and with both DisplayPort and HDMI cables/inputs
  • Even in the BIOS/UEFI before Windows loads

Things I have already tried:

  • Reset the monitor’s OSD to factory defaults
  • Tried multiple DisplayPort and HDMI cables and different ports on both monitor and GPU
  • Set scaling to “Full-screen” and “GPU” in Nvidia Control Panel, with override enabled
  • Unplugged all other monitors and tested with only the XV242 F connected
  • Tried lower refresh rates (120Hz/144Hz)
  • Tested on a second computer (same issue)
  • Powered off and unplugged the monitor for extended periods
  • Checked Windows scaling (100%) and orientation (Landscape)
  • Tried hard resets and looked for hidden service menus

The issue persists in every scenario, including at BIOS/UEFI and on other devices. The OSD menu itself appears inset, not at the edge of the physical panel.

I have attached photos and screenshots for reference.

Does anyone know of a fix for this, or is this likely a hardware/scaler/firmware issue that requires service or replacement?
Is there a special service menu or firmware update for the XV242 F that could help?

Thanks for any advice – I would really appreciate it!
