Hello there, I have used all the resources I could find so might as well ask here. Currently I managed to get an old Acer Aspire 4935G laptop recently, and was planning update the bios of it. I went through the steps and when the screen turned black but still on, I gave it about an hour before force powering off with the button. Since then, it has not given any signs of working. to clarify, I have tried using a USB stick, formatting to FAT32, getting the 1.02 BIOS version (what it was originally), placing the .fd file in the root, and plugged it in. I cannot control the power button when the ac is plugged in, as it will automatically turn on for a few seconds then off, and the power button will not respond while it is plugged. with only the battery plugged in, i can control the power button, and have tried Fn + Esc, and so far no success. Can anyone please tell me anything I can try.

Hi, I recommend selling your 2009 laptop, you can auction it off for spare parts at e-Bay, and getting a new Windows11 laptop.

The Aspire 4935G Insyde bios is an automatic .exe file that is flashed within the windows OS that performs the bios update automatically, you must have done something wrong or interrupted the bios flash in the middle of the update process, hence and why the bios was corrupted and the laptop boots with a black screen. I suggest that you either take/send your laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country so that they can fix the bios program or a competent technician in your area that can reprogram the bios version to a workable state also.

The last and cheapest solution, is to search the web like on eBay, here is a place where they sell the new Aspire 4935G bios chip on eBay, that has the last bios version instilled on the chip, and all a technician will need to do is take the old bios chip out and refit this new chip, which is a very easy job. As those are the only solutions that you have to fix this bios chip problem. Good luck and hope this helps you out to solve this problem.
