BIOS Password and Unlock Code prompt to enter BIOS on Acer Swift Go 16 SFG16-72T-96Z6

😮This is really weird. Yesterday I tried to enter the BIOS setup to check a memory issue, and without having activated anything, it asked me for a password to enter.

Another oddity: if I enter nothing, it hangs for about 10 seconds before getting a menu to Enter Unlock Code or System Startup. If I click the Lock Code option, it says I need to insert a FAT/FAT32 USB dongle. If I do that, I get an Unlock Code prompt. According to some research, it's supposed to create a code.txt file, but that doesn't seem to actually happen in my case.

All this seems like some sort of strange bug or issue with the BIOS, with not users accidentally setting a BIOS password. Does anyone have any guidance on this?

Acer told me to take it to an official center, but in my country, Argentina, there aren't any official ones. It's a shame they don't help you unlock the BIOS, since I didn't do anything to cause this to happen 😡

Supposedly I was told that the official service uses a proprietary software "Acer Unlock Tool"

    Welcome @wolf73,

Have you tried using standard passwords such as 0000 or 1234?
