The BIOS up and down arrows won't let me access Boot or Security on the Boot Tab.

USB does not appear as an option to boot from.

In BIOS enable USB Boot and enable the F12 key, press F10 (save changes) and reboot.

Here's how you can get past that unresponsive arrow key behavior and make your USB boot device show up:

    1. Set Supervisor Password First
Sometimes the BIOS won't let you change boot or security options unless a Supervisor Password is set:

Go to the Security tab in BIOS.

Set a Supervisor Password (just make it simple and temporary).

This should unlock the Boot Mode, Secure Boot, and USB options.

    1. Disable Secure Boot
Once the Supervisor Password is set:

    Head to the Boot tab.

Disable Secure Boot (you may need to switch from “Standard” to “Custom” first).

This often reveals the USB boot option and makes boot devices selectable.

    1. Enable USB Boot + F12 Boot Menu
Still in the Boot tab, ensure USB Boot is set to Enabled.

    Also enable F12 Boot Menu.

Press F10 to save changes and reboot.

    1. Use a Properly Formatted USB
Make sure the USB is formatted as FAT32 and is made bootable in UEFI mode (especially if you’re using Rufus).

Insert the USB before powering on the laptop.

    1. Access Boot Menu with F12
      After rebooting, press F12 repeatedly.

Your USB drive should appear if all the above was configured properly.
