I have an acer nitro 5. this laptop randomly just does not start just the keyboard backlight is on. nothing on the screen. after some time and restarting via the power button, the fans start, still nothing on the screen. then i leave it for like 2-3 hours and it works. why does this happen? it has happened 3 times now.
When working. the laptop also used to freeze completely and when i force shutdown, then the same thing happened as mentioned above.

Hi, not knowing your Nitro5 model makes it hard to advise. If the laptop is 4-5 years old (the first Nitro 5 is from 2017) you have to change the battery, if this is a new model update BIOS and run (paste) these 2 Windows commands as Administrator: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter, this can take up to 30 minutes to complete, just wait. The next command is the System File Checker: SFC /scannow and press Enter, this either ends with "Found corrupted files that were repaired" or "….did not find any integrity violations" repeat the SFC command till you see the latter.

If your Acer Nitro 5 laptop's keyboard backlight is on, but the screen is black and the system won't start, it indicates a potential hardware or software issue preventing the laptop from fully booting. Several factors could cause this, including problems with the display, RAM, GPU, or even the laptop's BIOS. Performing a hard reset, checking external monitor connectivity, and updating drivers are potential troubleshooting steps.

    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Hard Reset:
Disconnect all peripherals (mouse, keyboard, USB devices) and the AC adapter. Press and hold the power button for 10-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Reconnect the AC adapter and try turning on the laptop.
    2. Check External Monitor:
Connect an external monitor to the laptop's HDMI port. If the display works on the external monitor, the issue likely lies with the laptop's screen or its connection.
    3. BIOS Reset:
If the display doesn't work on the external monitor and you suspect a BIOS issue, you can try resetting it. Consult your laptop's manual for specific instructions on resetting the BIOS, which may involve removing the CMOS battery or using a reset pinhole.
    4. Driver Updates:
Ensure your graphics card and other relevant drivers are up-to-date. You can find the latest drivers on the Acer support website.
    5. RAM Check:
Faulty RAM can also cause boot issues. If you have multiple RAM modules, try reseating them individually or testing with a known good module.
    6. Professional Help:
If the problem persists after trying these steps, it's recommended to contact Acer support or a qualified technician for further diagnostics and repair.
