Hi, I suspect an HDD failure, the Western WDC WD10SPZx 2121010 "spinner" is 5 years old (very long for a mechanical drive) and may have an issue like a bad sector, take the HDD out and test it in a HDD USB case on another PC. The Hynix SSD (HDD1) is only 128GB and may not have enough free space to use as the boot drive. If the HDD tests bad (HWINFO) I recommend you install a 2.5" SATA SSD like the Samsung 870 EVO V-NAND 2TB. You should also change the SATA mode in BIOS to AHCI instead of Optane since you don't have an Optane module installed.

The "No bootable device" error on your Acer Aspire A514-53 indicates that the computer cannot find a valid operating system to load. This usually points to issues with the boot order in BIOS, a problem with the hard drive itself, or potentially corrupted boot files. A few solutions include checking the boot order in BIOS, ensuring the hard drive is properly connected, or attempting a system repair.

Here's a more detailed breakdown and potential solutions:-
    1. Check the Boot Order in BIOS:
    Access BIOS:
Restart your laptop and repeatedly press F2 (or the appropriate key for your model, often F12 or Del) as the Acer logo appears to enter the BIOS settings.
    Locate Boot Order:
Find the section related to boot order, boot sequence, or boot options within the BIOS.
    Verify Hard Drive:
Make sure your hard drive (or SSD) is listed as the primary boot device. If it's not, use the arrow keys to move it to the top of the list.
    Save and Exit:
Press F10 to save the changes and exit the BIOS. The laptop should then attempt to boot from the hard drive.

    2. Check Hard Drive Connection:
    Power Down:
Completely shut down the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
    Open the Case (if comfortable):
If you're comfortable doing so, carefully open the laptop case to access the hard drive (refer to your laptop's service manual for instructions).
    Inspect Connections:
Ensure the SATA data cable and power cable are securely connected to both the hard drive and the motherboard.
    Reassemble and Retry:
If you've made any adjustments, reassemble the laptop and try booting again.

    3. Try a System Repair:
    Boot from Windows Installation Media:
If you have a Windows installation USB or DVD, boot from it. You may need to change the boot order in BIOS to prioritize the USB drive.
    Access Command Prompt:
Navigate to the repair options and access the Command Prompt.
    Run Startup Repair:
Try running the Startup Repair tool, which can automatically fix common boot problems.

    Rebuild Boot Files:
If Startup Repair doesn't work, you can try manually rebuilding the Master Boot Record (MBR) or Boot Configuration Data (BCD) using Command Prompt commands. This is more advanced, so consult a guide or seek professional help.
    4. Other Potential Causes and Solutions:
    Disconnect Peripherals:
Disconnect any unnecessary USB devices (including keyboard and mouse) and try booting.

    Reset BIOS:
If you've recently changed BIOS settings, try resetting them to default values. You can usually do this by pressing F9 in the BIOS and then saving and exiting.
    Check for Virus:
A virus infection could also be the cause. Run a virus scan if you can boot into Windows (even in safe mode) or boot from a bootable antivirus USB.
    Hardware Failure:
If none of the above solutions work, the hard drive itself might be failing. In this case, you'll need to replace the hard drive.
