Warranty not valid despite purchase within 12 months for Acer Chromebook. What to do?

I purchased an ACER Chromebook from Amazon in January 2025. There is an issue with the battery, so I tried to trigger the warranty. However, ACER support tells me the following:

"Kindly be advised that this unit shows as a US machine, we do not book US machines for permanent residents of the UK. You can try our out of warranty repair partner to see if they can assist you. They will be able to advise on cost."

I don't understand how I'm going to have to pay to fix a product that is still under warranty.

Does anyone know anything about this situation?

Did you originally register the CB with Acer Support U.K, or USA? What is the issue with the battery?

thanks for coming back to me! I registered in the uk and the issue with the battery: I think the battery was running very low and it attempted an update which crashed when the battery ran out. When plugging in the power cable (tried 2 and same issue) the charging light doesn't come on at the side of the machine. I've following the instructions online but to no avail unfortunately. If you have any tips please let me know. Thanks!
