I accidentally spilled a decent amount of fast dry top coat nail polish on the far right hand side of my keyboard while my laptop was on. I immediately shut down my laptop and unplugged it from my charger. Will my laptop be fine? Does anyone have a similar experience to this and if so what did you do to fix this issue? If it helps, the bottle of the top coat said its ingredients are isohexadecane and dimethicone.

A spill of a fast dry top coat nail polish is not like conductive liquid like water or a soda sweet drink, as what you have spilled is like an insulator and will not short circuitries and/or chips if it penetrates onto the mainboard underneath the keyboard.

The only thing that a fast dry top coat nail polish will do is it will destroy your keyboard and you will not be able to use that part of that keyboard, as you will need to replace the upper case and keyboard as one unit, as you cant just replace the keyboard as these two parts are rivetted together and you will have to buy this part as one unit. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

This is the US International upper case and keyboard replacement for your information.
