PH16-71-948L Predator Sense Stopped Working - Reinstall doesn't work.

MODEL: ACER Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71-948L) Gaming Laptop
PREDATOR SENSE: PredatorSense_5.0.1341 - Last available version

  • After the last large Windows-11 update, my keyboard lighting and the entire Predator Sense app stopped working. Tried to delete/remove, re-install, restart, etc. - NOTHING WORKS!
  • Only the initial "raining keyboard lighting FX" are on in blue color (randomly lighting up the keys), which after full restart used to turn into my preset lighting option, but now it just stays on. Backlight also off! :(
  • Also tried: Services - Acer Lighting Service - Properties - Recovery - then set to Restart the Service on all 3 dropdown menu options, then Restart computer, but nothing! :(

If anyone has a solution, please let me know!

    Hi, all I can think off is to restore the system to before the update and wait for Acer to release a new Predator version and BIOS update. Cancel the Windows automatic updates for a month by disabling the Windows Update service.

    I have got the very same problem on PH18-71. Ligthning controls stopped working. After restart, there is the initial blue rain sequence (so far so good), then my keyboard chages to red (my color) at full intesity (not good), the back panel lightning remains blue, and thats it. No way to control lights through the app. I noticed when I put the laptop to sleep and then wake it up, the back panel lights turn off and remain off.

    Ok ok ok. After reading a few more threads here I went to the Device Manager, found Acer Agent Service Software Component in Software components and reverted its driver to previous version… it helped.

    We have now 5.0.1463 update and it gets weirder the newer we get …Still hella full of bugs and nothing works properly. Ridiculous how the most important app still doesn't work how it should… Tried anything, Installed 25 times without ok results. Do they even test the app before releasing it…? Nah its all about the money. ….THEY DONT CARE.

    Ssooo i installed older version 5.0.1444 using: zip /Predator Sense_Acer_5.0.1444_W11x64 / WAP / 388b596ae3d947e7913e0e80f678b9da.appx

    and I changed the service settings (AverLightingService):

    Restart Lighting Services:

    1. Open the Services app on your computer.
    2. Locate Acer Lighting Services.
    3. Right-click and select Properties. Under the Recovery tab, set the options for first, second, and subsequent failures to Restart the Service.
    4. Apply the changes and restart your PC.

    Now all the RGB lights works properly. Still everything else is SSSSHHTT.
