In flexicharging setting in my Acer ALG laptop, i chose the "Charge the battery when under 70%, stopping at 80% " setting, which i thought meant that if i keep it plugged in, and my battery is at 60, it will charge to 80 and stop charging at 80 until it again reaches lower than 70% but in reality it just stays at 80%, isnt that bad for the battery? Also there is a custom setting where i can choose "start charging when battery is under ___" and similarly with " Stop charging when battery reaches___", so does it work with the same logic that my current chosen option uses(which i dont get)? I want to know if its possible to keep laptop plugged so that it reaches 80% but discharges to like 50% and then automatically starts charging again, so is that possible or not?

Hi, I don't recommend using Acer's Optimizer and Battery 80% charge limiter features in Windows11, these Acer programs are poorly written, hang a lot and interfere with Windows power management (Modern Standby) and automatic updating (Check for updates). Limiting battery charging will do nothing for longevity of a Li-Ion laptop battery that is an internet ruse and Acer no longer includes this in the latest versions. Just keep the power adapter plugged in 24/7 and the battery fully charged to 100% at all times and a high quality battery will last 1,000 full charge cycles or 4-5 years, limiting charging to 80% will increase your charge cycles and probably reduce the battery lifespan instead of increasing it. Don't worry about overcharging the battery either as Li-Ion batteries come with Smart chips that divert the adapter power after the battery charge reaches 99.9% 😉
