Hi, it sounds like your Acer Chromebook is restricting network access for browsers other than Chrome, possibly due to ChromeOS security settings. While ChromeOS doesn't have a traditional firewall that you can disable outright, you can try adjusting security features to allow broader connectivity.
Open Chrome on your Chromebook. Access Chrome Flags by typing chrome://flags in the address bar and pressing Enter. Search for "Security Features" using the search bar at the top.
Disable "Security Features" by selecting "Disabled" from the dropdown menu.
Relaunch Chrome to apply the changes.
Powerwash Your Chromebook: If nothing works, a factory reset (Powerwash) might resolve deeper system restrictions.

    Hi, Check ChromeOS Admin Policies:
Open Chrome and type chrome://policy to see enforced settings.
Look for any policies restricting network access.

    Reset Network Settings
Go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi and remove your current network.
Reconnect and test if other browsers work.

    Try Developer Mode (Risky Option)
If your Chromebook is managed, you may need to enable Developer Mode to bypass restrictions.
Press Esc + Refresh + Power, then follow the on-screen instructions.

If none of this helps wait for someone else to respond.
