Hi, disconnect the power adapter and shut down the laptop, There is a small pinhole in the back of your laptop (with a battery sign), stick a pin in that hole till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin for a few seconds. This will reset the battery. Don't use a USB-C charger but only the power adapter that came with the laptop.

If your Aspire A515-57 laptop is new, as this a 3 years old released model laptop, and if its new, then send it to Acer tech support in your country and get Acer to fix this problem with the keyboard or the EC or Chipset chips that your A515-57 laptop could have problems with. Do not open the laptop also. What is happening with your laptop is that its keyboard power key is either faulty or the laptops EC or Chipset chips are freezing and stopping your laptop from booting fully with an image on the screen and it either needs a new mainboard or it needs resetting by doing a hard reset. Good luck.

If a brand new Acer Aspire A515-57 laptop won't power on, the first step is to verify the power cord and adapter are functioning properly and are not damaged. If those are okay, a hard reset (holding the power button for 10-15 seconds) and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery (if removable) can sometimes resolve the issue. If the problem persists, you may need to boot into Safe Mode or use the Automatic/Startup Repair features.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:-
    1. Check the Power Supply:
Make sure the power cord and adapter are securely plugged in and not damaged. Check for frayed wires, bent prongs, or cracks.
Try using a different power cord or adapter if possible to rule out a faulty power supply.
    2. Hard Reset:
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the laptop shuts down. This forces a power cycle.
Disconnect the power adapter and, if your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.
Wait about 30 seconds, then reconnect the battery and power adapter.
Try turning the laptop back on.
    3. Boot into Safe Mode:
If the laptop still won't turn on, try booting into Safe Mode. This will start the laptop with a minimal set of drivers and software, which can help you diagnose if the problem is related to specific software.
    4. Use Automatic/Startup Repair:
Some laptops have built-in tools for repairing startup problems. Look for options like Automatic Repair or Startup Repair in your BIOS or boot menu.
    5. Check for Malware or Corrupted System Files:
If the problem persists, it's possible a virus or corrupted system file is preventing the laptop from booting. Run a full scan with your antivirus software and check for corrupted system files.
    6. Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings:
In rare cases, the BIOS or UEFI settings might have been corrupted or set incorrectly. Resetting them to their default values can sometimes resolve boot issues.
    7. Check for Overheating:
Acer laptops can sometimes overheat, leading to power-off or performance issues. Ensure the cooling system is not obstructed by dust and that the laptop is not placed on a surface that restricts airflow.
