Hi

When I put my Acer Aspire C24 to sleep, the monitor goes off fine. However, when the monitor is "asleep" a message comes onto the black screen intermittingly saying, "PC No signal". Is there any way of switching this message off as the computer sits in our living room and can be seen by us as we are sitting watching the tv . There is nothing wrong with the PC going into sleep mode and coming out of sleep mode. We would just like to switch off this message somehow flashing on and off in sleep mode.

Any ideas?

Turn the monitor off from its on/off switch, as the sleep mode does not turn the computer off as its still on standby but it does not transmit an image and that is why you are getting the "PC No signal".

When the Aspire C24 all-in-one computer is put to sleep, the monitor may turn off or go offline because it's designed to conserve power. To wake the monitor, try moving the mouse, pressing a key on the keyboard, or pressing the power button.

If the monitor still doesn't wake, you might need to check the video cable connection or adjust the power settings in Windows. Here's a more detailed explanation:

    • Sleep Mode and Power Savings:The Aspire C24, like many computers, uses sleep mode to conserve energy when idle. This often means the monitor turns off or goes into a low-power state.
    • Waking the Monitor:To bring the monitor back to life, you can try the following:
      • Move the mouse: If the computer is in sleep mode, moving the mouse should wake it up, and the monitor should follow.
      • Press a key: Pressing any key on the keyboard should also be able to wake the computer and the monitor.
      • Press the power button: If the previous methods don't work, pressing the power button will force the computer to wake, and hopefully, the monitor will follow.
    • Checking the Video Cable:Ensure the video cable connecting the computer to the monitor is securely plugged in. Disconnect and reconnect the cable to see if that resolves the issue.
    • Adjusting Power Settings:If the problem persists, you can check the power and sleep settings in Windows:
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Power & Sleep.
      • Under "Screen," you can adjust how long the device waits before turning off the screen.
      • You can also modify power plan settings to control when the computer goes to sleep or hibernate.

    Hi Stevengen

Thanks for reply. My Aspire C24 is an all in one computer. There is a single button on the back of the computer which switches the computer/monitor on or off. A single quick press of the button switches the computer into sleep mode, and again we get the "PC No Signal" intermittently flashing on the screen. I cannot find a separate button for the monitor only.

    Regards
