Hello All,

I'm having this issue with Predator Neo 16; it keeps giving me this error when I try to charge my phone using the Type-C ports. It's a fresh install of Windows, and I reached out to support, but no help. Last time I sent it for repair, they replaced the mainboard and IO board. I also ensured that the drivers are up to date.

thanks in advance

It's incredibly frustrating that your Predator Neo 16 still errors when charging phones via Type-C, even after a fresh Windows install and mainboard/IO board replacement. This suggests a persistent, perhaps intermittent, hardware flaw or a highly specific driver/firmware conflict. Try testing with various phones and high-quality USB-C cables, and meticulously reinstall Acer-specific chipset/USB/Thunderbolt drivers from their official website. Also, check your BIOS/UEFI and Windows advanced power settings for any USB-related options that might be interfering. If all else fails, escalate with Acer support, providing a detailed history of the issue and all troubleshooting steps taken.

Hi, Windows detects that you try to charge the laptop with the phone battery, you have to set your phone to charge it in the phone menu. Android Phones: When plugged into your PHN16-XX laptop, swipe down to open the notification panel on the phone. Tap the USB options notification, then choose "Charge this device" instead of file transfer or USB tethering.

For a high powered gaming laptop like the Predator Neo 16 models you need a proper high end USB-C adapter like the SlimQ 330W Charger that is specially designed for high power gaming laptops, as you are using the wrong USB-C adapter to charge your PHN16-7x model laptop and that is why you are getting that message.

I suggest that you buy this charger as it works perfectly with my PHN16-71-50JG model and its like the oem adapter but 50% smaller and you can use it fully plugged in like the oem adapter also. Good luck and hope this helps you further. charges this latop and
