I tried to turn on my laptop, which I had installed Linux Mint on years ago. It was working fine until today when I tried to turn it on and I got a "No Bootable Media Found" message. I looked in the BIOS and it says "None" for SSD Model and the serial number is just blank. Any way to fix this?

I don't know which exact model Aspire Switch SW5-171 laptop you have, as there were models with only an eMMC drive and provisions for a 1x SATA 3 2.5" drive, but some models had a removable SATA 6GB/s type M.2 2280 SSD. But if your model has the soldered eMMC 32GB, 60GB or the 128GB type soldered eMMC drive with provisions for a 1x SATA III 2.5" drive, then you either see if you can fix the boot section of this drive or replace the eMMC drive by a Technician.

If you have a removable M.2 2280 SSD Aspire Switch SW5-171 laptop and the boot OS is on that then you can replace this drive easily.

If your Switch laptop only has an eMMC boot drive and its not recognized or boots, then there is a high chance that the eMMC drive is faulty and the only thing that you can do is try to repair the startup files of the OS. To do this you need to go into the Win-10 Advance options > Starup repair like shown below. If that doesn't work then your boot drive is faulty and you need to reinstall the windows OS onto either the 2.5" SATA 3 drive (which you can buy an SSD 2.5") as the eMMC drives cant be fixed,

But can be relaced by a technician, So those are your choices. If you have valuable data on an eMMC drive I suggest that you consult a recovery Techni tan and get them to advise you further. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

The "No Bootable Media Found" error on an Acer Switch indicates the system can't find a bootable device, often meaning the SSD is not being recognized or the boot order is incorrect. To resolve this, check if the SSD is detected in the BIOS, ensure the correct boot order is set (UEFI or Legacy), and consider reconnecting the SSD or checking cables. If the SSD is not detected, you might need to reinstall Windows from a bootable USB.

    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Enter BIOS:
Restart the Acer Switch and press the key to access the BIOS (usually F2, F12, or Del, according to KillDisk).
    2. Check SSD Detection:
In the BIOS, verify if the SSD is listed as a bootable device or is being detected at all.
    3. Adjust Boot Order:
If the SSD is detected, set it as the first boot device in the BIOS. You might need to change the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy if that's an option.
    4. Reconnect SSD:
If the SSD is not detected, try disconnecting and reconnecting it, ensuring all SATA cables are securely connected.
    5. Check Cables:
Make sure the SATA power and data cables are properly connected to both the SSD and the motherboard.
    6. Reinstall Windows:
If the SSD is detected but Windows is corrupt, you can reinstall Windows using a bootable USB drive.
    Additional Tips:
Try a different USB drive: If using a USB for installation, try a different one.
Consult Acer documentation: Check the Acer Switch's documentation for specific BIOS settings and troubleshooting steps.
Contact Acer support: If you've tried all steps and still have issues, contact Acer support for further assistance.
