Hello,

As in title my monitor (ACER VG270) is not working properly.

I bought this monitor about year and a half ago and about a month ago it started not working as it should.

By that I mean it starts turning on and off when first turned on after a while (turned off during the night etc.)

This doesn't happen every time, but happens often and duration is random (from few seconds to todays high of 40 minutes)

I have sent it twice to the service that is recommended by ACER in my country (worst rated service in the country) and they sent it back claiming it works properly even though I sent them videos of it not working. As the problem randomly occurs I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it didn't happen even though I have videos of it happening both times since I got it back from service (first time turning it on after it arrived back).

Now the problem is visible in videos (turning on and off after period of inactivity) and any solution would be appreciated. (Since it doesn't seem to be possible to get it fixed or replaced through warranty since service refuses to acknowledge that there is anything wrong with it and I was told that I can't send it for diagnosis to another place or I will lose warranty).

I should also clarify that problem occurs whether or not monitor is connected to pc or not and its shown in a video from when it first got back from the service (other monitors work perfectly, also tried to change multiple cables, changed outlets etc.)

I attached few videos but have more (it's more of the same, and most videos are long and files are too large to upload like the one from today)

If your Acer VG270 monitor keeps turning on and off when first powered on, the issue is likely with the power supply or a faulty connection. Begin by ensuring the power cord and adapter are securely plugged into both the monitor and a working outlet. Try bypassing a surge protector and using a direct wall outlet. A power reset, by unplugging the monitor, holding the power button for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in, can also help. If the problem persists, consider checking or replacing the video cable between the monitor and your device.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential causes and solutions:
    1. Power Issues:
Loose Connections: Verify the power cable and AC adapter are properly connected at both ends.
Surge Protector: Bypassing a surge protector and testing with a direct wall outlet can help isolate the problem.
Power Reset: Unplug the monitor, hold down the power button for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
    2. Cable Issues:
    Faulty Cable:
Try a different video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort) between the monitor and your device.
    Loose Connection:
Ensure the cable is securely plugged into both the monitor and your device.
    3. Display Settings:
    Incorrect Input Source:
Check that the monitor is set to the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort).
    Monitor Settings:
Explore the monitor's settings menu to see if any settings are causing the issue.
    4. Hardware Issues:
Monitor Damage: Inspect the monitor for any physical damage.
Internal Components: If the problem persists, it might be an internal component failure requiring professional repair.
    5. Device Issues:
Driver Problems: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers could be causing flickering or display issues.
Device Compatibility: Ensure the monitor is compatible with your device and operating system.
    Troubleshooting Steps:
Power Check: Ensure the power cord and adapter are securely plugged in.
Power Reset: Perform a power reset by unplugging the monitor, holding down the power button, and then plugging it back in.
Cable Check: Try a different video cable and verify it's securely plugged in.
Input Source: Check that the monitor is set to the correct input source.
Monitor Settings: Explore the monitor's settings menu for any problematic settings.
Device Drivers: Update or reinstall your graphics drivers.
Professional Help: If the problem persists, consult a qualified technician or repair service.
