Hi, an expensive repair job if done by Acer Services in your country, estimated $200+ if the screen and motherboard are not damaged too. Don't "fix" this yourself as makeshift patch/glue jobs will last less than a day. Don't try to close the lid as that will make it far worse and far more expensive to repair. Ask Acer Services for a repair quotation.

It would help if you would tell us the exact laptop model that you heave? As metal hinges very rarely break on laptops, as its usually either the top LCD cover hinge securing points that break or the bottom case securing points that break, which the best fix is to replace the LCD screen and all the antenna and camera and mic components and the same done with the bottom case, where you will need to swap all the laptops mainboard and all the other components within the bottom case, which is a major job if you cant do this yourself, if you get someone else to do this for you, it can get expensive.

If its only the hinge that is broken, and you are computer savvy you can do this hinge swap yourself very easily as its not a hard job.

Another and cheaper alternative is to use a bonding glue like a Hot Glue, which will bond the metal hinge to either the LCD top cover or the bottom cover of your laptop, which is a much cheaper and easier alternative. See this You Tube guide here of how an Acer Nitro 5 hinge was fixed with hot glue properly. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.
